~ Piano Lessons from the Heart ~

I approach each student as an individual and use piano instruction to guide them to become well rounded musicians. As a teacher I am often amazed by my students. They arrive at their lessons ready to learn, and ready to help me to understand how to teach them.

Some of my students may want to play to express a mood they are in, to compose something out of the blue, to play for family, school or community - or improvise with their friends.  Others may use learning the piano as a stepping stone for playing other instruments.

My heart sings with joy when I hear piano music, and I find that the students who study with me are here because they love music, especially the piano.

During lessons we use an assortment of method books, exercise books, sheet music, supplementary materials, improvisation, student or teacher created compositions and standard classical repertoire.

Some of my past students have gone on to become music teachers and educators. Most are still connected with their music and enjoy sharing it with their families and friends.
